PosiTector DPM L Series
Magnetic Dew Point Data Logger
Magnetic Dew Point Data Logger
Magnetic Dew Point Data Logger
Model No. :
Brand : Defelsko
The PosiTector DPM L Series comprises advanced, unattended dew point meter loggers designed to magnetically affix to steel structures for continuous, long-term monitoring of environmental conditions. This rugged, IP65-rated series automatically measures six crucial climatic parameters to prevent coating failures related to moisture and temperature, including: relative humidity, air temperature, surface temperature, dew point temperature, wet bulb temperature, and the critical difference between surface and dew point temperatures (Td−Ts).
- Magnetically attaches to steel structures
- Measures six key environmental parameters
- Unattended logging for up to 600 days
− Features
- Long-Term Unattended Logging: Attaches magnetically to steel structures to measure and record environmental parameters autonomously for up to 600 days (DPM L+ model), ensuring continuous job site condition monitoring with user-selectable logging intervals from 1 minute to 8 hours.
- Weatherproof and Durable Enclosure: The environmentally sealed unit is weatherproof, dustproof, and shockproof, meeting or exceeding IP65, guaranteeing reliability and protection from the elements in harsh outdoor and industrial settings.
- Extensive Internal Data Storage: Stores up to 10,000 datasets (a total of 60,000 readings) in internal memory, each permanently stamped with the date and time, simplifying archival and compliance reporting.
- NIST Traceable Accuracy: Includes a Long Form Certificate of Calibration traceable to NIST, coupled with fast-response, precision sensors, providing users with accurate, repeatable, and verifiable readings from the point of deployment.
- Remote Data Management (DPM L+): The L+ model features WiFi connectivity to automatically upload readings to PosiSoft.net, enabling continuous remote monitoring and automatic email alerts when conditions exceed pre-set alarm thresholds.
- Bluetooth Connectivity: Connects via Bluetooth to the PosiTector App (iOS/Android) for viewing live data, configuring settings, starting/stopping logging, and generating PDF reports directly from a mobile device.

PosiTector® DPM L Series
+ FAQs
How often should the PosiTector DPM L Series probe be recalibrated?
The probes come with a Certificate of Calibration showing traceability to a national metrology institute (NIST or PTB) and have no expiration date. While DeFelsko suggests a starting interval of one year from the date the instrument is placed in service, organizations should establish calibration intervals based on their specific quality program, experience, and operating environment.
Does the PosiTector DPM L series arrive pre-calibrated from the factory?
Yes. Both the DPM L and DPM L+ models are fully calibrated and ready to measure upon arrival. The included Long-Form Certificate of Calibration provides documented actual readings taken in the laboratory, proving traceability to national standards.
Does the PosiTector DPM L series provide a wet-bulb temperature measurement?
Yes. Both the DPM L and DPM L+ models automatically measure and indicate the wet-bulb temperature in addition to the other five environmental parameters.
How long does it take for the meter logger to acclimate to a new environment?
Acclimation time varies. When moving between similar environments, the instrument stabilizes quickly (within seconds). However, when moving between environmental extremes (e.g., cold air-conditioned interior to hot, humid exterior), stabilization can take up to 30 minutes to ensure accurate readings.
Is the PosiTector DPM L Series suitable for monitoring conditions inside a high-temperature oven?
No. The DPM L Series is not recommended for prolonged use in an oven, as internal components are susceptible to damage at temperatures greater than ≈50∘ C (122∘ F). For oven temperature profiling, the PosiTest OTL Oven Temperature Logger is the recommended alternative.
